Description |
These "hanao" are created with 1st class velvet. Very beautiful and very soft It is a very graceful and beautiful string that will be suitable for almost all kinds of Japanese sandals. These unique strings are created here in Kyoto by a skilled craftsman who specializes in making hanao.
The finish of the weaving of velvet is called "Hon-ten". It's also one of the traditional way to weave velvet in Japan. |

The hanao are offered only as a special bonus to customers who purchase geta/okobo or who purchase geta/okobo at the time of this listing.. Sorry, but we are unable to give this special offer to anyone who wishes to purchase hanao without the purchase of a base sandal through our store. Because the hanao are strung professionally, both shoes and hanao must be purchased together.
Only one pair of hanao per sandal purchase will be sold. The strings must be attached by a professional and it is a very complicated process that involves over 50 steps. We offer this as a free service to you with your purchase, for your convenience and to ensure your satisfaction with our products. |

The green tie at the top of the hanao ( tured left) is called 'Mae-Tsubo' in Japanese. Traditionally, the Mae-Tsubo tie is often changed without much regard to the color. We will do our best to offer you the same type of mae-tsubo as the hanao you are ordering, but please be advised that due to availability of stocks, colors may be substituted by the professional hanao craftsman. Please be as sured that we will always confirm the change with the buyer before the substitution is made.
Additionally, please be aware that your chirmen hanao are created from patterned kimono fabric. The pattern placement on the hanao you receive may differ slightly from the pattern placement shown in the sample photo . Even though it is cut from the same kimono fabric, we can not guarantee it will be the exact set as shown for our sample. If you worry about this, please contact us before bidding on the item. |

Please Note:
To complete your order for getting a pair of wooden sandals, you have to
submit the measurements of your foot details. We need the measurements
to set up a pair of hanao to a pair of wooden shoe base. As we described
on the item page, the wooden shoe base would be offered in a fixed size.
Buyer has to submit the info to let us customize and adjust the hanao (string)
to let yourself wear the wooden sandals comfortable. |

To get your own custom Geta, take your foot measurements in the following areas:
1. Lowest point (green line) - Toe height
2. Highest point (red line) - Front of ankle
3. Widest point (blue line) - Foot width
4. Length (black line) - Toe to heel
Once you have taken your measurements, simply choose a Geta base and a Hanao string to complete your custom Geta shoes. Because they must be professionally assembled, we cannot sell these items separately. International shipping cost will be required
for shoe base but all prices will include shipping for the hanao. (Hanao
are listed on our store as free shipping item.)
